 Description of RTD activities Faculty for Special Education and Rehabilitation participate in several research programs funded by Ministry of Science and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia. Our Faculty also joined several international research programs. We have established joining research projects together with partners from Norway, Italy and Bulgaria.
Our main research topics include:
- Early diagnostic and treatment in Cognitive Impairment
- Diagnosis and treatment of Movement Impairment
- Research in Developmental Disabilities
- Inclusive education
- Violent Behavior in Children and Adolescent
- Methodology in special Education and Rehabilitation

Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation which is part of University of Belgrade initiated establishment of Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation at Faculty of Medicine which is part of University of Novi Sad, second largest University in Serbia. Our two institutions developed full cooperation in research and education.
Faculty for Special Education and Rehabilitation cooperates with several different institutions for children with impairments:
1. Special Primary Schools for Children with Multiple learning difficulties (5 Schools
in Serbia),
2. Special Primary Schools for Hearing impaired pupils (2 Schools)
3. Special Primary Schools for Visually impaired pupils (2 Schools)
4. Special Primary Schools for Children with Motor disorders and chronic diseases (2
Schools)
5. Special School for Children with Behavior, Emotional and Social difficulties
As well as, we have 8 regular primary school where are children with disabilities are included.
We also have close collaboration with institutions for Adults with impairments:
1. Residential Treatment Centre for Adults with Mental Disorders Belgrade
2. Residential Treatment Centre for Adults with Motor Disorders Zemun
3. Residential Treatment Centre for Visually impaired Pancevo
And with following Medical Care Institutions:
1. Institute for Psychophysiological and Speech and Language Impairments
2. Institute of Mental Health
3. Clinic for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Our Faculty has established close cooperation with different Social Care Institutions:
1. Adult Day Care Centre Belgrade
2. Day Care Service for Children with Multiple Difficulties
