 Description of RTD activities Institute, as a scientific and research institution, is engaged in realization of research and technical–technological projects in the field of meat hygiene and technology, financed by the Ministry of science.
Projects in the field of meat safety are financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, forestry and water management. Institute is engaged too, in research projects in the field of production and implementation of casing, cans, additives, spices, etc., intended for meat industry, than in scientific/technological cooperation with meat industry relevant for realization of its specific activities, research projects in the field of laboratory investigations (development and validation of methods) and in analysis of quality and safety of foodstuffs and feedingstuffs, in technical-technological designing of slaughterhouses and meat-processing facilities and side premises, as well.
 Experiences in international Programmes According to the decision of European Commission, since 2002 Institute has been authorized for issuing Certificates of authenticity for the export of beef meat, originating from Serbia, to EU market. Institute has, also, been engaged as coordinator of the project’s research in the field of protective bacterial strains (project: “Safety of fermented sausages”, No. ICA4-CT-2002-10037), within the FW5 program, financed by EU; in FAO project: “Epidemiology and control of horse trichinellosis in Serbia”; bilateral projects with Gorbatov’s all Russian Meat Research Institute, Moscow; cooperation with Federal Centre of Meat Research, Kulmbach, Germany; exchange/internship of experts and participation in professional meetings with the German and Russian institutes, than with ETAT-Greece, University in Udine-Italy, etc.
